Bird Quiz
This bird quiz asks 11 questions about record-holders, migrations, and the voices you already know from the backyard.
The ground these 11 questions cover
Eleven questions on birds, split across three themes: record-holders, migrations, and familiar voices. Part of the round works like a bird identification quiz, matching well-known voices to the birds that own them; the rest asks which bird holds a given record or makes a given journey.
- Record-holders among birds
- Migrations, and the birds that undertake them
- Familiar voices matched to their singers
The mix means a birder by ear and a birder by book both get their turn.
Why you can trust the answers
Bird records are a risky category for a quiz, because some records change hands as new measurements come in. Fauna keeps only the stable ones, and it double-checks everything: two authors filled in the same fixed question catalog and structured tables independently, and their versions were compared value by value. Of 196 keys across the site, 194 agreed. The two contested facts — neither of them about birds — were dropped instead of scored. Conservation statuses, revised yearly, are left out for the same reason: an answer should still be correct when you retake the quiz next year.
